Ready for Work

We are committed to supporting adults whose lives are socially disadvantaged. We do this by providing opportunities to obtain sustainable employment and, in doing so, enable them to lead successful lives and actively contribute to a prosperous society.

The programme is supported by businesses in the Liverpool City Region in order to help adults gain the experience they need to do this.  Ready for Work enables adults to build their skill set and confidence to find work.

We offer structured work placements for people facing barriers to work which provides invaluable experience.

What’s involved?

  • Training sessions including communication, team working and interview skills.
  • A voluntary work placement with a buddy on hand to help you get to grips with the job.  This week’s placement can then be a reference for future employers helping you attain a permanent role somewhere.
  • Follow up support in a Ready for Work club, as well as a business volunteer who meets with you on a one-on-one basis.

By providing placements, businesses can make a massive difference to individuals’ chances of employment by helping them build their CVs, develop key employability skills, improve self-confidence and gain essential references.

Topics covered include:

  • Self-esteem
  • Motivational skills
  • Expected workplace behaviour
  • CV and interview skills
